Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Contest
Join thousands of others in making the pledge to read aloud "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle to children in your community on October 8, 2009 as part of the Read for the Record campaign, an initiative of Jumpstart for Young Children. Every week from July 30 to October 8, one autographed copy of the book will be awarded to a randomly selected person who has pledged to read. "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" was first published in 1969, has been highly praised ever since, was translated into over 45 languages and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
