Developed by a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft, the maker of the Winamp Media Player, foobar2000 is an advanced audio player for Windows. It supports a wide range of audio formats out of the box, including MP3, MP4, WMA, CD Audio, FLAC, Musepack, Speex, AAC, Vorbis, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, and SND, and even more can be added by installing additional so-called "components." Other main features of foobar2000 include full unicode support, gapless playback, ReplayGain support, a customizable user interface and advanced tagging capabilities, as well as support for ripping Audio CDs and conversion of audio files between formats.
