FLAC Codec (v. 1.2.1b)

With this Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC), you can play audio files that were compressed without any loss in quality. It is one of the fastest and most widely supported lossless audio codecs, and one of very few that are open-source. Additionally, it is supported by many consumer electronic devices, such as portable players and home stereo equipment. The format is, unlike MP3, Vorbis and MPC, lossy, and there are no copy prevention methods included.
