The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has prepared two handbooks on earthquake preparedness titled "Protecting Your Family From Earthquakes" and "Putting Down Roots in Earthquake Country." The latter is available only in English, the former also in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean. Both handbooks, of which you can order up to 10 copies, provide information about the threat posed by earthquakes in the San Francisco Bay region. The offer is available to citizens of the United States and Canada, and the only requirement is that you fill out a short form. They will probably appreciate it if you could answer some of the optional questions regarding earthquake preparedness.
